A novel technique for the combination of utterance and speaker verification systems in a text-dependent speaker verification task

چکیده
In this paper we present a novel technique for combining a Speaker Verification System with an Utterance Verification System in a Speaker Authentication system over the telephone. Speaker Verification consists in accepting or rejecting the claimed identity of a speaker by processing samples of his/her voice. Usually, these systems are based on HMM's that try to represent the characteristics of the talkers' vocal tracts [1]. Utterance Verification systems make use of a set of speakerindependent speech models to recognize a certain utterance and decide whether a speaker has uttered it or not. If the utterances consist of passwords, this can be used for identity verification purposes [2][3]. Up to now, both techniques have been used separately. This paper is focused on the problem of how to combine these two sources of information. A new architecture is presented to join an utterance verification system and a speaker verification system in order to improve the performance in a textdependent speaker verification task.

متن کاملUtterance Verification for Text-Dependent Speaker Recognition: A Comparative Assessment Using the RedDots Corpus
Text-dependent automatic speaker verification naturally calls for the simultaneous verification of speaker identity and spoken content. These two tasks can be achieved with automatic speaker verification (ASV) and utterance verification (UV) technologies. While both have been addressed previously in the literature, a treatment of simultaneous speaker and utterance verification with a modern, st...

Speaker verification from talking a few words of sentences has many applications. Many methods as DTW, HMM, VQ and MQ can be used for speaker verification. We applied MQ for its precise, reliable and robust performance with computational simplicity. We also used pitch frequency and log gain contour for further improvement of the system performance.
متن کاملMulti-task learning for text-dependent speaker verification
Text-dependent speaker verification uses short utterances and verifies both speaker identity and text contents. Due to this nature, traditional state-of-the-art speaker verification approaches, such as i-vector, may not work well. Recently, there has been interest of applying deep learning to speaker verification, however in previous works, standalone deep learning systems have not achieved sta...
